NASA ALSDE STEM Institute Training

Hi Internet World!

A couple of weeks ago, I was honored to work with 3rd-5th grade teachers from all over the great state of Alabama on (drumroll please...) NASA Resources and STEM Science lessons. Our presenter John Weis was phenomenal.  He kept us engaged with hands on engineering design lessons that made my colleagues and me think, laugh, ask questions,  scratch our heads, and LEARN.  He taught us exactly what we'd be doing with our students by allowing us to become students.  Here's a secret. IT WAS A BLAST!

All hands were on deck while making our Lunar Buggy

When I left the training, I was empowered by NASA, John Weis, and all the great professionals from the Alabama State Department of Education.  It's been about three weeks, and my class and I have completed two labs.  Guess what? My students have been engaged, they can discuss and explain the concepts, and they are learning to think like engineers.  I consider that a NASA ALSDE STEM Institute win.

Teachers, home schoolers, administrators, and internet world, did you know that NASA has tons of resources designed specifically for Science education for students in grades  K-12? Don't worry, Ms. Bee has you covered.  Click the link below for access to all of the great lessons NASA provides, FREE.
